My first week for this year’s get-in-shape quest was a success. I completed 4 sessions out of 6 - that’s from the second day of the month to day 7 which is today. See why I missed two days here.
I still do Billy Blanks’ Basic Bootcamp training and as usual the first day was arduous considering my muscles are off with the routine for months but thank goodness there’s no passing out for me again this time.
[If you may ask, I got all my instructional workout videos from a P2P file sharing software I’ve downloaded for free.]
Billy’s Basic Bootcamp is a 54:23-minute workout and a combination of basic calisthenics, strength, cardio and combat kicks. This is what I do when I lost 20 pounds in less than 6 months last year. Also after months of inactivity I gained most of what I’ve lost back. Terrible, isn’t it? That is why I have added a special meal plan to pair with my workout this time – the no-rice diet. That way, shredding pounds will be a lot easier.
I know a lot of people think wiping out rice on a regular meal plan is insane. Well for me it’s just a matter of mindset and discipline. Eliminating rice doesn’t mean denying yourself from the same nutrients you can get from it. If you try to look around you will see there are actually tons of rice alternatives that are maybe available to use such as potatoes, bread, cereals, pasta… these types are way easier to digest than rice.
The only thing about it is patience and determination. But hey, nothing worthwhile is ever easy.
Living healthy these days I know is quite a formidable task with all the easy way around. Again it’s just a matter of choice. I am definitely not here to convince people to do what I do. But if this story drives you to start making a change for yourself, I’ll be proud. Trust me it is no one else but yourself whom you are giving that huge favor for.

i admire your discipline and mindset - you must also have a great inspiration to begin with, or a good vision to achieve.

I used to go by Billy Blanks vids before and he was killer LoL! Whew!! Talk about real bootcamp! But after you sweat it out, you never regret the exercise. Hey good luck with your fitness quest, Nancy!
Wow! That's one tough workout ah. I used to do the 30-day shred and it just takes 20 minutes a day of combined strength, cardio and ab exercises, but my muscles already sore. Can't imagine doing a workout for 54:23 minutes.. XD
Anyway, great job! I'm on my road to fitness too, my main problem now though is getting a more alkaline diet.. >.<
Oh I miss doing cardio! It's pretty difficult to maintain a healthy diet when doing long term travel cause we usually buy food that's cheap for us. But we do heaps of walking, at least that's a plus one for health :) Anyhoo, you got a good start for 2012! awesome job.
One cup rice on every meal so you'll not ruin the health regimen..
great for you, taking time to do this for yourself... discipline is the key... just shows how much you love yourself... Yahweh bless.
Just because you're not sick doesn't mean you're healthy.
You're totally right!
No rice diet! gusto ko din to! hehe lakas ko sa rice eh but I guess i'll do it slowly..less muna then i'll completely eliminate it after so many days.. hihi good luck po!
gotta try that. will focus on running for the meantime.
Once a person embarked in any fitness or weight-reducing exercises, self-discipline and self-determination is a must. If he couldn't strictly follow his/her sked better not for him/her to do it. Anywhere you search from the Net there are a lots of program for this from simple to complex, affordable to high-paid fitness program. I repeat it takes discipline and determination to succeed.
It is the exercise that I lack. I've tried the no-rice diet and I can do it. I just lack the funds to eat pure viand. :P
impressive...i'll become sexy again in no time..thanks
hmmmm a health buff like me. i was quite worried because no matter what i do, i don't lose weight... i am active in fun runs plus i run on TTh nights...
need to see a doctor... i barely eat, too!
Good thing you're doing exercises like this. Ako hindi ako healthy, I'm sure of it.

i wish i can be as dedicated as you are...i only plan to do a bit of yoga + stretching + some crunches to solve my bulging-tummy problem, but alas, sometimes i hardly find enough to squeeze it in between all the chores + childminding...+ how i wish i can just easily say no to rice, too! ^_^
Ngayon ko lang yan narinig ang workout na yan but I think it's really fun :))
Btw, Keep it up.! :)
discipline in everything is a must to achieve what you wish for.. Pero yung sinasabi nila sa diet na i-take out ang rice? hehehe i cant live without rice,
