BY Nancy Janiola IN , No comments

I so love spring rolls. Do you? Okay if that's a yes, then here's one easy perfect dish we can all together prepare for this coming Lenten Season courtesy of Sarap ng Buhay by Kraft Eden. They call it Cheesy Bangus Spring Rolls.

Click image to see the recipe of this oh so yummy treat.

I'm privileged to have been invited to joined Kraft Eden's biggest event last year - breaking the world record. By simply sharing one of the cheesy recipes I know, I became now part of that history. Isn't it great? Now I am more than enjoying the real benefit of that little effort I spent for them. Receiving seasonal and extra delicious recipes like this for free is more than just something. Thanks Kraft Eden!

My Newest Favorite (But Only While Supply Last)

BY Nancy Janiola IN No comments

Rice... yes they are! But they're not your ordinary kind of rice because each pack of it comes in different sumptuous flavors I'm sure your taste buds too would love.

They're  complimentary gift sent my way by a friend.  I love all flavors but Mushroom and Cheddar Broccoli are my palate's grand winners so far. I still have to try out the Taco Rice though. I'm sure it will taste just as good.

Crazy Weather and Why Shouldn't I be Scared of Getting Sick

BY Nancy Janiola IN , , , 12 comments

Weather is really crazy these days here in my part of the globe. The sun gets so bright and the next minute there’s the drizzle if not a cloudburst. Times like these no one, not especially a WAHM like me can afford to get sick and meet mister rolling medication cart at any hospital premises – not now – no never!

Still nothing beats the natural way of preventing illness from taking place so I make sure my family has their daily consumption of Vitamin C-rich fruits like apple.

apple
I personally only have few preferences when it comes to fruits and apple is one of them. Trivia: I never like fresh pineapple no matter how sweet it is unless it’s sugared and turned into jam or marmalade. :D

I get bruised easily and have poor healing when struck with even just mild condition and I found out it’s all because I lack Vitamin C. Why walk through the drugstore when it’s way easier and not to mention cheaper to shop for fruits at the market and again prevent bugs from bugging your system, right?

My family may not take apple the way the slogan “An apple a day keeps a doctor away” says but we do at least have it on a weekly basis along with mangoes, bananas, avocado (if available) and oranges - among of our favorites. :)

Homecoming Treats: Garlic Sticks, Danish Puff and Roasted Peanut

BY Nancy Janiola IN 17 comments

Mom went to a 2-day out of town convention and brought home some of these when they got a chance to shop on their way back.

These are not her usual preference for a "pasalubong" but she thought they’re all worth a try especially the roasted peanut which according to the store owner where she got it from is made by nuns. Look closely on the label, it obviously says it.

I especially munch on nuts when I need to stay up late to get some online tasks done. And it doesn’t only help me stay awake but it also help me in pinching a loaf the following day. Trust me I’m a living proof to that fact.

I’m not big on bread sticks but since it is garlic flavored, that I couldn’t resist. It’s like munching my favorite homemade garlic bread. :D

The Danish Puff is likewise good and hearty. I won’t mind pairing it with my morning coffee. The kids didn’t like it that much when mom opened a pack for everyone to try. The taste was not what they think it is. And that’s how I got this whole second pack, LOL! Knowing kids… the only pleasant to their taste buds are those sweet ones. But thanks to them! I got the whole pack instead. :D

Guess with all these I no longer have to worry for something to snack on at night for few days. The 450 gram bag of peanut itself is already a lot for my consumption.
