Crazy Weather and Why Shouldn't I be Scared of Getting Sick

BY Nancy Janiola IN , , , 12 comments

Weather is really crazy these days here in my part of the globe. The sun gets so bright and the next minute there’s the drizzle if not a cloudburst. Times like these no one, not especially a WAHM like me can afford to get sick and meet mister rolling medication cart at any hospital premises – not now – no never!

Still nothing beats the natural way of preventing illness from taking place so I make sure my family has their daily consumption of Vitamin C-rich fruits like apple.

apple
I personally only have few preferences when it comes to fruits and apple is one of them. Trivia: I never like fresh pineapple no matter how sweet it is unless it’s sugared and turned into jam or marmalade. :D

I get bruised easily and have poor healing when struck with even just mild condition and I found out it’s all because I lack Vitamin C. Why walk through the drugstore when it’s way easier and not to mention cheaper to shop for fruits at the market and again prevent bugs from bugging your system, right?

My family may not take apple the way the slogan “An apple a day keeps a doctor away” says but we do at least have it on a weekly basis along with mangoes, bananas, avocado (if available) and oranges - among of our favorites. :)

I am not into cake and other sweets but I love just about any kinds of fruits. Apple is also one of the favorites at our home.

It is indeed important for us to eat fruits each day, no matter what fruit it is, still it will give nutrients to our body. I do love apples too :D

I don't like munching on apples except if they're Fuji apples nga fresh from Japan (my sis would always bring a box for me every time she comes home from Japan). When I was pregnant, i was forced to eat them everyday, the green ones-- because they helped my heartburn and they were good substitute for green mangoes. Lol. It is true-- fresh fruits help to strengthen our immune system thereby helping us not to get sick easily.

The weather here in the Philippines is like that too. Intake of vitamins are really important. Like you, I go for the natural way. I also eat lots of fruits and vegetables.

My daughter is currently down with flu because she lacks Vit C. That's why I bought her fruits to help her be healthy. :)

That's the weather in Manila. That's why I make sure I give my baby regular dose of Vitamin C, to avoid illness.

I really need to make more effort to add fruits to my diet. :P My kids and the husband like it and we always buy for them but unless it's a fruit salad with loads of cream and condensed milk, I won't eat it. :P I don't like apples or bananas but I do love oranges and mangoes. :D I don't get sick that often but I'm getting older and I do need to take better care of myself. :P

and so true, better to take it from fresh fruits than have it in pill form. :P
